Good news - The Battery Hen Welfare Trust has now rescued over 184'000 birds from slaughter. If you think you can give some 'Ex-Bats' a home then see their web site www.bhwt.org.ukfor more details.
Goose breeds are usually grouped into Heavy, Medium and Light weight classes. Commercially, Geese are usually bred for their meat, foie gras and occasionally for specialty eggs but for the specialist breeders and keepers of pure breed geese, they provide charming and intelligent pets, useful ‘guard dogs' and efficient 'lawn mowers'.
There are many breeds of geese to choose from, each breed has it's own section where we put photos and any breed specific articles.
