Northampton Egg Show 2014

Northampton Egg Show 2014

The Northampton and District Poultry Club Egg Show was held on 17th May at Crick Village Hall. The show was moved from the Old School Hall to this larger venue, which proved a great success. 123 entries were received in 24 classes.

I was delighted to be asked to judge this show, having passed my Egg Judging Test at the Federation Show last year. Thanks to everyone who helped with the running of this show, especially Club Secretary Mark Anderson-Howe who did most of the organizing.

John Messenger was awarded Best Eggs In Show with an exceptional plate of three large brown Marans eggs that were perfectly matched and varied only one gram in weight. Reserve Best In Show were six large brown eggs shown by Mark Anderson-Howe. The Members Choice award went to Peter Goodridge for his six large white eggs.
