Did you know that in the UK a conventionally raised chicken for the supermarket has a lifespan of only 39 to 40 days? Free Range Chickens have a minimum lifespan of 56 days and Organically raised birds must have a minimum of 70 days?
There are a number of different varieties of turkey available including: Blue (Lavender), Bourbon Red, Bronze, Buff, Narragansett, Nebraskan, Norfolk Black, Pied (Crollwitzer), Red, Royal Palm, Slate, Spanish Black, White (High breasted / historical standard breed).
There are ten varieties of turkey standardised in the UK. Bourbon Red, Bronze, Narragansett, Nebraskan, Blue, Buff, Norfolk Black, Pied (Crollwitzer), Slate & White.
