Orpington Ducks were created by William Cook of Orpington, Kent around 1890 as a dual purpose utility duck. Mr Cook famously produced the Orpington Chicken around about the same sort of time. Available in 3 colours: Buff, Blond and Brown. The Buff Orpington is an unstable colour due to a blue dilution gene. which means that from the offspring, all 3 colour variations will appear. The Orpington Duck is a very good egg layer, capable of laying up to 220 eggs in a year.
