The Abacot Ranger duck was often called the Hooded Ranger in the past. The breed nearly died out in the UK but in 1926 further work was done to stabilise the colour in Germany where it was called the Liekers Streifere which means Lieker's Ranger or Scout. It was standardised in 1926 as Streicherenten which means Ranger Duck. In 1987, the British Waterfowl Association standardised the duck as the Abacot Ranger and in France it is called Le Canard Streicher
More information about the Abacot Ranger Duck can be found in the Abacot Ranger Breed Information Section.
